Week of fun and education

Over the October 2017 School holiday there was a range of activities provided by Vallance for the local boys and girls. The youth club was open 3 days a week and also trips to the cinema. On Thursday 26th October there was a Basic First Aid workshop for girls and boys aged 11-19. This was attended by 21 participants and was delivered by the British Red Cross.

Half term football

During October 2017 half term school holiday Vallance FC held 2 days of Fun Football coaching at Weavers Field. The sessions were held 11am to 1pm and attended by over 35 young kids

New Sponsors for Senior team

It was a new kit and first win of the season for the Vallance FC senior team. The team was wearing a new kit which is Sponsored by the 212 Lounge who are a local business based in Chadwell Heath. Vallance played away at Hackney Marshes and won 3-1.

Veteran’s team play for charity

Vallance FC has set up a new Veterans team of over 35. The team is made up of Ex-players from the beginning of Vallance in 1997 to 2007. This team includes founder members and Trustees. The first 7 a side tournament they took part in was on Sunday 8th October in a charity event for the victims of Rohingya. This tournament was done by Human Aid Relief and they raised £9,500.00. Vallance Vets played 3 games and drew 1 and lost 2.

Day out for the Club

On the night of October 5th Vallance FC staff, parents and young players went to Wembley to watch a World Cup qualifier. The match was England vs Slovenia and eventually England won 1-0. As part of being a FA Charter Standard Development Club, Vallance were given 125 complimentary tickets from the English FA. Football Development Officer Iqbal Hussain at Vallance said “This was a great opportunity for our young players along with their parents to experience a Live game. You cannot get better than the Wembley atmosphere. We are very grateful to the FA and especially Kevin Coleman who is the Equality & Diversity manager at the FA for the tickets. Community Sports Forum starts

The Newly formed Canary Wharf Community Sports Forum held an open day on Saturday 30th September 2017. This was at Shadwell Basin from 12pm to 5pm. Vallance are members of the Forum along with other sports organisations from Tower Hamlets. The community Fun day had sports taster sessions and stalls with information from the group members that was given out to all that attended. Vallance also did the Mehndi and face painting which was provided by the women volunteers.
