Volunteer Rewarded

Hamidul Islam who is a long serving volunteer at Vallance was nominated for the Team London Individual Volunteer 2011. Hamidul joined as a football player when he was 11 years old in 2003 and played through all the age categories and is now playing for the Vallance senior team in the Middlesex County Football League. In his spare time he coaches and manages the Vallance U10 team and helps out in various projects at Vallance as a volunteer.

On Thursday 1st March 2012 along with 2 other volunteers he attended the Team London Awards at the City Hall in South London which was presented by the Mayor of London Boris Johnson along with a host of celebrities. Hamidul Islam and Javed Ali got to meet and have a picture taken with Arsenal FC footballer Kieran Gibbs (Picture above).
