Disability team kicks off

The birth of a new team at Vallance. On Thursday 16th November 2017, Vallance FC Disability team kicked off at the South London Special League. The 6 a side event takes place at Long Lane FC on a 3G pitch. The team is made up of players over 16 that take part in the Vallance Disability programmes. Nine players were chosen to play by the team manager. They played 4 games, winning 3 and losing 1 and finished runners up. Vallance project manager Junel Uddin said “We are very proud of this team. Out of all the teams at Vallance we feel this one gives us the most satisfaction. To see them represent our club and finish runners up in their first tournament is amazing. The smile on their face is priceless”.

This project is funded by the Tower Hamlets MSG and Football Foundation Grow the Game grant.

Match Report: The tournament started with Vallance losing their first game 1-0 against the eventual winners of the tournament. After conceding the only goal in the tournament went on to keep clean sheet in every game. The goals scoring was not a problem as CJ was tournament top scorer with Wobi eventually getting on the score sheet twice. Shahin Ahmed was commanding in goal with Ryan, Arif and Hussain protecting their goal with some top defending. Man of the tournament for Vallance was Salam who played a Kante role in central midfield. Manager for Vallance was Abul Bashar who was very familiar with all the players and knew how to get the best out of each player within their positions.

The team has more players to be added and see themselves eventually winning the tournament in the coming months. Special thanks Junel, Saifur, Abul and all the players for making the occasion such a enjoyable and successful day.
